Added 10 new images to the Black & White Gallery, including a VERY rare publicity shot Viggo's
agent sent to tv networks back in the early 90s & several more rare Bruce Weber shots. Updated the Viggo News section, I just checked all the main Viggo fan sites & it seems I'm the first to anounce
the opening of the Perceval Press web site & about Viggo's new book. Go to the news section for more details. May more updates are on the way including a great contest!

Added a great new Viggo Interview to the "articles" section.
It's the first new one on the list. Have taken a break from the new Multimedia section
and am finishing a great new commentary on Viggo's movie GI Jane it includes many movie & sound files from the movie. It'll be online soon.

Work on the site continues. I have begun redoing the multimedia section & plan to add much more content there. The bboard now requires people to register
before they can access it. Don't worry it's a simple process. Just email me with the username & password you want & I will set it up for you & email you that it's been
done. User names must be one word and contain only letters &/or numbers. It now enjoys several new
features including it's own private chatroom (very reliable), an events
calendar, an area to post your own Viggo film reviews, and an area to
purchase or trade Viggo Merchandise. Many more features are on the way.
The chatroom where the online chats are held is now only accessible from within the bbaord.

Work on the larger poetry section continues. I have expanded the GALLERY Section (Black & White Gallery) with ten more Viggo photos
including two very exclusive pics.
I've also updated the Viggo News section.

I've been working on the site inspite of the lack of updates on this page.
I've expanded the Biography section to include an unofficial bio with pics, meeting Viggo accounts page,
Viggo comments page & Viggo Quotes page. I've expanded the Painting section which now has 6 sections including
25 new examples of Viggo's paintings & photos. Tons of information about Viggo's art books & gallery exhibits.
There are new additions to the fan registry & a new SITE MAP to make finding things on the web site easier.
Updates to the Viggo News page continue.
December 08 - December 29th 2001
As you can see I've missed two weekly site updates. My apologies the holidays have
taken up much of my free time. As they do for most people. But you'll over look this quickly
when you read about the site's numerous updates!
First I've added the many enteries made to the FAN REGISTRY.
So if you registered before December 27th it'll be online. More recent entries will go online
during the next update. Keep Registering! I've created a new guestbook since the old one
seemed to have server problems. I've transffered all the old entries to the new book so don't worry they haven't been lost.
My search for material for the site continues & I have several treats instore for the near future!
I finally saw The Fellowship Of The Ring & have written my own review (which includes movie spoiler) here.
But the big update is the addition of three new sections to the web site. The first two are small but the third one will blow you away!
I've added a Web Links page where if you know of any informative web sites just email me a link & I'll add it. But please NO adult sites.
Second I've added a Site Awards page, been lucky to recieve a few of those. And the piece de resistance the new Viggo BLACK & WHITE PHOTO GALLERY
(in the links it's just entitled "Gallery". This is where you'll find new original black & white photographs of Viggo. I have a pile of black & white photos that
I'll be adding in the near future. For now you can ONLY acess the new web site sections from the main index page, & this page.
I've also added a new Viggo related web poll. Found here. It is
also accessable as a pop up window on the main index page. Vote now!
I've also made a large update to the news section. Including an exclusive about Viggo's new book!!

It's been quite a few days, the site's opening has been a big success. Almost 200 new visitors WOW!
Even though I can't say I've made big additions to the site (other than the news section which has had several updates). I can
say I'm gathering materials for future additions and a few web site exclusives. So keep visiting!

Happy Holidays! The web site officially goes online this weekend!! Been doing touch ups here & there,
and have added allot to the Viggo News section. I am starting to gather new Viggo interviews & pictures
for future site updates. Work on the first of the online movie scripts has also begun.

It seems this site has unofficially gone online. A couple of web search engines
have scanned the site & automatically added it to their search results. So if you do a search on
'Google.com' for example my site is listed on page ten of several hundred pages.
I've already had dozens of visitors and it was only when I started to receive great emails from some of them that I realized it. Thank you for your emails they are a great encouragement! Don't forget to sign the guest book!!
With all this encouragement & the site's official opening date only two weeks away I decided to attack the LORD OF THE RINGS section
of the site head on. I decided that it should have similar design to the rest of the site but
structually be a little different since it's almost a web site of it's own. The new look is from an early
design scheme I had for the entire site. It works best on the LOTR section alone. The section has everything from cast bios to
to detailed production info to an area on JRR Tolkien himself. It's 99% done, there is a link HERE.
For the first time I've counted how many pages make up my site &
I gave up at over 60 pages, even I'm suprised!!
March 5th - November 9th 2001
It was on the second week of March that I gave up and decided that if I really wanted a cool web site
to learn more about Viggo Mortensen the actor & artist I'd have to create it myself. :-)
Within a week I had the basic site structure on paper. I immediately began putting together
all the info I could find in the form of interviews, articles & pictures. This is still an ongoing process today.
By the end of the month I'm lucky enough to meet Barnaby Marriott, a fellow fan & movie critic. He
gladly agrees to donate his services.
For the next few months searching for site content was the priority. The name and main concept for the site was now clear in my mind.
Work on the different sections of the site was sporadic.
It evolved as I considered what I, as a fan, would enjoy seeing on a fan site and how it could be best presented. For those
who know little about html & web site building, don't be fooled, even the smallest detail on a web site takes time & patience.
The trick is to make it look cohesive and appealing to the visitor.
By July, I was starting to see things come together. The basic text for each main section of the web site was online & I was starting to look over the graphic
material I had gathered, to that point, and how I could display it. Barnaby's reviews continued arriving & being put online. I concentrated on creating & customizing a bulletin board, guestbook, chatroom &
fan registry to the site. September saw an unexpected but not suprising set back when the hosting service for the guest book, bulletin board, counter & chat room for the site went out of service without warning.
I had to do it all over again with a more reliable service (lesson learned).
By the beginning of October it seemed like the web site was nearing completion, most of the pages were online & finished. Then one evening I went online as if I were a new visitor to the site & gave the site a cold, calculating look.
I was not happy. Text wise it was fine, it still needed polishing but it was coming together. The problem was that it just looked boring. As an average net user I realized that a good site is one that gives me plenty to look at along with the info
I'm searching for. I experimented with adding wave files that loaded automatically of Viggo reading snipets of poetry. But I nixed the idea because it made the site download slowly. I dipped into the many Viggo pics I'd gathered (a few donated by Branaby) &
decided to go that route. The site as you see it now with four different pics of Viggo at each corner of every page & one large pic in the center of each section was born.
The end of October saw the addition of several new sections to the site thanks to suggestions by Barnaby. At this point, I felt that I needed someone unrelated to the creation of the site to review the site, test out it's features and give me an honest opinion.
I went to the Yahoo Viggo Mortensen Fan Club and asked Avalon (someone I had never emailed before) if she would be interested in taking on this not so easy task. She graciously agreed. By the second week of November, with great care, Avalon had finished reviewing the site in detail & guided me in
my final polishing. I realize there is more to do, I still need to create a section dealing with The Lord Of The Rings Trilogy in detail, but at least now I don't have to worry about the rest of the web site, it's done.
