Pilar--I'm pretty sure about this b/c I talked with her after the signing about what was going on with the gallery opening on July 11th--private. July 12th Viggo will be there all day and it's open to the public. “Thanks Pilar!! :-)”--leaned over to me and asked if I was on the internet board? I nodded my head and tried to say both my screen name and my real name all at once. She looked confused. I looked at her helplessly. Pilar looked understandingly patient, knowing that she'd come in contact with yet another speechless Viggo-phile.

I asked my daughter for the digital camera and watercolors. Oh no, they were still in van! Resourceful daughter suggested buying a disposable camera in ICP Store. Asked at counter but they didn't carry disposable cameras. (Don't they have famous people come there for signings and know how important this service could be?) Couldn't bear not having watercolors to gift and digital photos of event. Pleaded with guards at door to let me back in when I returned. Jogged back to van. Madly moved stuff around while parking garage attendant amusingly watched. Muttered underbreath curses and soulful prayers about if I only could make it back with camera and watercolors in hand before the signing ended. Jogged back. 8 pm. Doors were locked. Knocked; guards unlocked door. My daughter was next in line. I was ready to cry with relief after jogging in the rain back and forth three times in less than ten minutes. Took out handkerchief from pocketbook to wipe face of sweat. Felt very un-elegant.

I had drawn out with pencil and my daughter had watercolored three bumper sticker slogans—
"Ten Toes and My Sole For Viggo"
"Free Frodo, Free Your Toes" and
"Mortensen, Mustangs and Mud = TRU LUV".
He asked me what they were. Dumb-struck, I just looked at him, thinking that his eyes were really blue-green like jade. Got my tongue back and squeaked, "bumper stickers". Which of course they weren't really. LOL. He looked confused and then asked if I wanted him to sign them. He is absolutely, incredibly, so fantastically, accommodatingly kind! "Oh my goodness. No. They're for you."
